Our Psychosis, Autonomy and Recovery Research Unit is focused on understanding what factors may help or hinder the autonomy of people with psychosis, particularly in relation to treatment decision-making, and our overall aim is to  develop safe and effective psychological interventions to to support it.

Inpatient Applied Psychology Research Unit

Our Inpatient Applied Psychology Research Unit is focused on using research to improve the psychological care of people receiving inpatient psychiatric care in Edinburgh and beyond.

Trauma & Complex Mental Health Problems Research Unit

Our Trauma & Complex Mental Health Problems Research Unit continues our pioneering work in understanding and treating complex post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as improving our knowledge of the relationship between early trauma and psychosis.
