David Carmichael, Associate Member

David Carmichael is currently a Trainee Clinical Psychologist with NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh. Prior to commencing clinical training, he worked within adult primary care mental health service in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde after completing his undergraduate degree with the University of Strathclyde and MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care with the Universities of Dundee and Stirling.

He is completing his Doctoral thesis on the relationship between childhood trauma and psychosis, where he is conducting a meta-analysis examining the evidence for relationships between specific forms of childhood trauma and persecutory delusions, and a novel empirical study which is examining the degree to which negative core schema mediate the relationship between childhood trauma and paranoia in people with persecutory delusions.
